First ride up to Windgate. Ouch!

Juan, Matt and I going up Mt. Elden. NO shuttle the for first timers!

Almost to Sunset/Catwalk where the real fun begins!

Mutt is to cool for school! Having a GREAT time knowing Sunset trail is just around the corner. The altitude had nothing to do with it.

End of the Catwalk with brush fire in the backround..Juan 'just' noticed..hey, is that a fire?!

GOOD long ride and just needed some shade!

Bottom of Walnut Canyon/Fisher Point on the AZ Trail

Same place looking northeasterly..ish. Fisher Point is ~1 mile to the top. Bring your legs and lungs!

Random deer and dog with leash meeting along the AZ Trail. Either one seemed to care about what I was doing.

Muddy ride! Knew it was going to rain but had to go out anyways.

Tahoe and Downiville. At the top. Nuff said!

Heading up to Windgate or Bell Pass, I don't remember, it hurt though. Eric in the front.

Windgate! Thanks Tommy for taking the picutre. He probably could have taken 20 of them waiting for us to catch up!

Christine waking Matt up following the 'tequila tasting' campout at McDowell. That day was PAINFULL!

Eric riding the Black Canyon Trail. We got shot at heading back to the truck! VERY close shots!

Eric again, resting and enjoying all the wild flowers. They were everywhere!

Mr. Tortoise on the trail. Always enjoy seeing the wildlife...okay, NO bears or mountain lions please!

AZ Trail along Walnut Canyon. Great ride leaving from the garage!

Matt at the base of Fisher Point/Walnut Canyon. Hear there is a hornets nest there now. Never bothered us.

AZ Trail again in August. Birthday ride with flowers. Cool ride!

Tahoe Flume trail post ride!

Same as above just WAY cooler.

AZ Trail to Cambell Mesa loops.

Northernly direction facing away from Chicken Point in Sedona while going solo. Picture speaks for itself!

Matt heading up the last bit to Gateway saddle in Scottsdale.

Sedona Cathedral Rock/ Templeton heading towards Budda Beach.

Matt at Broken Arrow taking a break.

Dan at Broken Arrow taking the same break (I swear that crack was already there).

Getting close to Chicken Point in Sedona.

Pretty sure that we were on Supermoto in Flagstaff by Shultz Creek. FUN!

Heading along Sunset trail (top of Heart trail) on Mt. Elden looking north.

Start of Little Bear off Sunset. Always forget the climb coming out but MAN is it fun going down!

Somewhere on Mt. Elden I think at the bottom of Little Bear and now going up to Shultz Creek

Rocky Ridge Trail Head along Mt. Elden lookout road. Brookbank TH is 0.2 miles further up the road or you can cross the road and hit Lower Oldham to Buffalo Park.

Just did lower Brookbank and thought my lungs were going to explode. NO one else on the trail that day due to the rain!

Cresting Brookbank? to the Dry Lake area. Very Cool!

Found the Jedi trail...lots of riding over fallen trees with quazi ramps. Never quite knew what to exptect on the other side.wasn't quite ready for that especially wet. Armor would be a good idea for this ride!

Other side of the previous picture and YES the wood was s L I C K!

Matt on National Trail SoMo

A little farther away. Fun going back down!

Solo Sedona ride at the finish with Bell Rock in the backround

Pretty sure at the top of Taliesin Overlook with McDowell's in the backround

Matt in Scottsdale on our way back from the way we do it along the CAP

I think I see a deer....in SCOTTSDALE!?

Ummm, where? You're kidding!

Right about there. Pretty cool to see. It had been much closer to us when we spooked it out of the brush below

Dan, Eric and Matt on the tip of Fisher Point in Flagstaff. Short 0.9 mile climb but...ouch!

Eric and Matt taking in the sites of Walnut Canyon from Fisher Point

Matt along the AZ Trail above Walnut Canyon in Flagstaff

Eric on the same trail

Sorry Eric but I had to take it. Mother of a tech climb coming back out of Walnut Canyon as the AZ Trail 'dips' down into it again

My legs hurt so bad I had to have Matt hold my bike...or is it holding him? Hmmm. Catch the backround single track!

Some perspective

Self explanatory

Dan and Matt trying to undue each other...first one who puts a foot down loses

I think that I barely escaped

Nothing like cake and beer following a ride. Christine made some wicked cake for Matt's bday

Matt and Tommy riding in the McDowell Mountains 'over the top' I think this we did Bell Pass this ride

Easterly looking from the top of McDowell's. LOTS of wild flowers and great riding!

Matt hammering uphill

Tommy and Matt heading down the east side of Bell pass (possibly Windgate).

John, Matt and Dan at Taliesin Overlook. Went counter clockwise that day and Juan just loved the climb!

Says it ALL!

Baldwin Trail after passing Budda Beach on the southern side of Cathedral Rock

Templeton towards Budda Beach. Tight turns and drop offs. Much funner going down than up!

Baldwin and Templeton connection

Sedona ride with Dan, Eric, John and Matt back 2004

Dan and Matt on the Flume trail for Tahoe 40

Is it bad?

No, really is it bad?

It's always nice when the ladies come along for a ride!

Matt watching some elk we came across close to Buffalo Park in Flagstaff, AZ

...Very big elk!

First time riding with John who was camping out near Shultz Creek. Good riding!

Dan and John. Pretty sure there is a knarly trail that comes through underneath that log...Going DOWN Brookbank...FINALLY!

Dan and Matt at the same location.

Matt hammering down Brookbank for a photo op.

Matt taking after me and my frequent clip-outs

Camping John on the same trail.

...and without the clip-out. We're having fun now!

Friday night Bike & Beer 2009 festivities with Dan, Eric, Matt and Eden (Christine taking picture)

Eric somewhere on the trails in Flagstaff having a great time!

As far as I can tell...a picture with no one in it.

Eric making the climb

...Again

Juan making the same climb...cleared it!

John, Dan and Eric at the Weatherford Trail (wilderness area in the backround)

The same area looking East along the Kachina Trail

Juan, the habitual line stepper!

John, Eric, Matt and Dan on Secret Trail...John and Matt held hands frequently for support!

John thinking about his line...Hmmmmmmm?

...and then no!

So he walks it back up and plays Superman on the section that he cleared the first time. How nice to have an photo of this one! A little scatched up but he's okay.

Dan and Christine at Charlie's after our ride. Great place to people watch with a few beers!

The whole Bike and Beer party clan at Charlie's!

Dan heading down Hot Shot trail (for the second time that day)...Sunday's ride

We're having fun now! This picture of Eric pretty much says it all!

The switchbacks from hell on the Sonoran Trail during our McDowell double bypass ride. Lots of walking going on over there!

Top of Bell. Ascended from the east and REALLY glad to be at the top! Down hill from here...Kobe burgers and beer at the finish!

Dan just chill'n while Jeff messes with his bike at the Paradise turn off

Rich, Matt, Jeff and Jon looking happy to be almost done with our 6.5 hour ride! I miss the desert! 01/30/2009
